Chiropractic Info
Chiropractic was founded as a healthcare profession in 1895. The founding premise was the body had an innate ability to heal and this ability could be compromised if there was nerve impingement obstructing the flow of nerve impulses. Another term that could be used to describe this compromise is, subluxation. Subluxation in this case, refers to an interference to the body. This could be caused by nerve interference, toxic insult, trauma, and much more. Subluxation in this reference, is not used in the medical sense of an incomplete dislocation.Doctors of Chiropractic today, are physicians who look at man as an integrated whole being. Special attention is given to the physiological, biochemical, nutritional, emotional, neurological, vascular, musculoskeletal, and environmental relationships of the whole body.
Diversified Technique
This is a manual form of chiropractic manipulative therapy, perhaps one of the older forms of manipulation. Dr. Horn provides this method of manipulation to patients who request it and have been screened for safety.
Drop Table
This method of chiropractic manipulative therapy uses a table that drops a very small distance. The method is gentle and effective. Most patients prefer this manual method because of its safety, comfort, and effectiveness. There is no rotation of the body with this method.
Vertebral Distraction Pump (VDP)
Vertebral Distraction Pump is a method of microtraction. The V.D.P. is designed for virtually painless treatment of disc disorders such as herniated discs. We have had excellent results in the office using the V.D.P. on neck and low back disc problems. Before and after studies have been done with MRI, showing documented proof of the effectiveness of the V.D.P.
Activator Technique
Activator technique is a gentle, precise instrument technique developed in the late 1960's. The Activator technique incorporates the latest advances in orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic examinations. ArthroStim
The ArthroStim is an electronic manipulation technique. This method of chiropractic manipulative therapy is very gentle, comfortable, and effective. ArthroStim can be employed with movement, thus helping to improve the patients range of motion. The ArthroStim Instrument produces twelve thrusts a second. This frequency, known as the low beta somatomotor rhythm, supersaturates the target area with specific energy forces. The energy continues to ripple through the joint to surrounding fringe tissues. This releases secondary trigger points and sites of muscular spasm, providing relief and corrections. Patients typically notice a positive difference with the first treatment.
McKenzie Method
This is a method of diagnosis and treatment developed by Robin McKenzie. The treatment approach is physical therapy in nature, without manipulation. Dr. Horn has been trained in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy for the Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar Spine. McKenzie method is often a very effective technique for disc problems and the patients can do much of the therapy on their own.

Have you ever heard of a “cold laser” or a “low level laser?” Did you know that cold laser is a widely accepted and VERY EFFECTIVE form of therapy for various conditions? Acupuncture
